Box Score The Mayville State University baseball team picked up a 10-5 victory over Dordt College this afternoon to extend the winning streak to five games. With the victory, the Comets improve to 12-5 on the regular season and 3-0 on the spring trip.

The Comets started the game scoring five runs on three hits and left one runner on base. It started with a walk to
Marcus Wohl, then a single off the bat of
Quinton Bidon.
Michael Theisen reached on a walk to lead the bases. After a sacrifice fly from
Jared McCorrister to bring in the first run of the game,
Skyler Forst walked to reload the bases. Next batter,
Theo May singled in Bidon and Theisen to give the Comets a 3-0 lead.

Gunner Garpestad singled to right field to score Forst,
Theo May scored on an error from the second baseman to give the Comets a five-run lead in the first inning. MSU would add to that lead in the top of the third innings on a sacrifice fly to short right field off the bat of Garpestad, that scored Forst.

Dordt answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the fourth inning, with a solo home run. Mayville State answered with one run in the top of the fifth inning off a sacrifice fly from
Marcus Hughes that scored
Theo May. Dordt cut the lead to 7-3 in the sixth inning by scoring two runs off a base hit. The Comets added an insurance run in the top of the eighth off an error by Dordt that scored
Tyler Ferrera.

The Comets would add two more runs in the top of the ninth to secure the 10-5 victory over Dordt College. The two runs were scored off a bases loaded walk from
Owen Harms and a fielders choice off the bat of Wohl.

Theo May went 4-for-4 on the day with three runs scored, two runs batted in and one double.
Marcus Wohl and
Marcus Hughes each tallied one hit and one run batted in.
Quinton Bidon tallied one hit and one run scored in the victory.
Gunner Garpestad recorded one hit, one run, and two runs batted in.
Skyler Forst recorded one hit and scored two runs.

Josh Rodriquez picked up the victory on the mound going 6.2 innings allowing eight hits, five earned runs, one walk, and four strikeouts. Kenneth Stewart pitched 2.1 innings in relief allowing one walk and striking out six batters.

The Comets are off tomorrow but are back in action on Friday for one non-conference game against Waldorf. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 pm CST against the Warriors.
