Mayville, N.D. - Elora Passa has been named head volleyball coach at Mayville State University. Passa is a former standout Mayville State Volleyball student-athlete, who earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education in 2023. She also earned a Master of Education degree in innovative teaching practices from Mayville State in 2024, and she is currently pursuing a second master's degree in leadership in physical education and sports.
Most recently, Passa served as assistant volleyball coach at Mayville State, a position she has held from February of 2024 to present. She has been a graduate assistant with the program and was also volleyball camp coordinator and coach. Coach Passa has experience in student recruitment, individual and team development, strength and condition, scheduling, tournament organization, and relationship building.
"We are very happy to have Elora Passa join us as head volleyball coach," said Mayville State Athletic Director Rocky Larson. "She is a respected member of the Mayville State family who has proven her abilities and commitment to success. We look forward to having her serve in this important leadership role."

I have received an immense amount of support as I continue to grow in my career," said Coach Passa. I am excited to be returning with a great group of student athletes who have continued to trust me throughout this process. We are so excited for the upcoming season with the continuous support of the university and community."
Mayville State University President Dr. Brian Van Horn said Elora always exemplified strong leadership as a student athlete. "It's clear she'll continue to grow and improve our volleyball program for years to come. We're ecstatic about the direction and culture she'll build for MSU Volleyball."
In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Passa is an instructor in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation at Mayville State.
