Lane Freiboth, Great Falls, Mont., was a quarterback on the Mayville State University football team in 1963, 1964, 1965, and 1966. He was the conference scoring leader in 1964 and was named to the all-conference team that year and the District 12 team in 1965.
A highlight of his career was scoring two touchdowns in a 12-7 win over Minot State in the 1965 season. Freiboth was captain of the 1966 Mayville State football team.
A native of Terry, Mont., Freiboth graduated from Mayville State in 1967 with a major in mathematics and a minor in biology. He was named teacher of the year at Great Falls High School in 1998. He retired in 2000 after teaching in the Great Falls public systems for 33 years. He currently teaches part time for the College of Technology in Great Falls.
