Patrick Keenan played at Mayville State in 1965, 1966, and 1967. He wrestled in 1966.

The 1965 football team was undefeated and the conference champion. Keenan was named All-Conference and All-District 12 that year. In addition, he was named NAIA All-American Honorable Mention. The 1966 Mayville State football team was conference champion as well. Keenan was named All-Conference and All-District 12 that year. In 1967, Keenan was named the outstanding fall athlete at Mayville State and was named to the All-Conference and All-District 12 football teams.

In addition to playing football, Keenan worked full time to support his wife and two children while he was attending college at Mayville State. He transferred to Mayville after playing football at the University of Minnesota. Keenan graduated from Mayville State in 1968 with a degree in Physical Education and Health. He later earned a master’s degree from Bemidji State.

Keenan is a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is now retired and living in Orr, Minnesota after spending his career in education as a teacher, coach, and administrator at Minnesota schools in Minneapolis, St. Louis County, Virginia, and Prior Lake.
