He had been recruited to play football at several larger institutions, but chose Mayville State, where he would have the opportunity to compete in more than one varsity sport while earning a top notch education.

Tim was captain of the golf team and earned all-conference honors in 1978 and 1979. His teams were the conference and district champions in those years as well. He was team captain for the Comets basketball team in 1977-78. After graduating with a bachelors degree in sociology in 1978, Tim served as an assistant golf professional with the Professional Golfers Association of America in Florida and later in Fargo, N.D.

He has spent the past 27+ years in the banking/equipment finance field and is currently an executive vice president for Wells Fargo Equipment Finance. He coached Little League, Babe Ruth, and American Legion baseball for 16 years and a traveling basketball team for 8 years.

Actively involved with the United Way, Tim likes to hunt, fly fish, and golf. He and his wife Karen are the parents of three children, Jarid, Jodie, and Andrew.
