Fargo, N.D. - Mayville State Comet Softball hosted the Bellevue Bruins on Saturday and Sunday at Tharaldson Park on the campus of NDSU in what was originally slated for their home opener.
"Coming in game one with a 7-1 win was just what I expected out of our team. Bellevue has a long line of history of being in the top of whatever conference they are in, so we knew they would be competitive games," said head coach
Jordan Olson. "But the great thing is, the better the opponent, the better we have played all year. Unfortunately, we let little things continue to get the best of us and hurt us in big moments. We stranded a ton of runners in scoring position and had multiple opportunities to score runs."

"If our team can play the way I know they can, we can go out and compete with Dickinson State on the road," added Olson. "But, we need to understand winning softball games takes full effort for seven innings, so we need to clean things up and be more consistent with our game plan."
The Comets, who are now 4-4 in Frontier Conference play are set to play Dickinson State University on Friday and Saturday, however, the games have been pushed to Monday, April 6th & Tuesday, April 7th. For full schedule details visit:
